The World Environment Organization (WEO) is calling for all celebrations to become platforms for environmental protection. This call was made by Dr. CH Bhadra, the founder president of the WEO, during various wedding ceremonies in Hyderabad.
Over the past ten years, the WEO team has participated in birthdays, weddings, retirement functions, anniversaries, and memorial services, gifting plants as a symbolic and lasting tribute to the individuals being celebrated or remembered. This initiative aims to raise awareness about environmental conservation and inspire future generations to protect nature.
The WEO is actively campaigning against the growing threat of pollution, urging everyone to plant trees and reduce pollution. Their slogan, “Plants as gifts – creating a living space in history,” reflects their commitment to this cause.
Srinivas Chelluri, a member of the WEO executive committee and CEO of Tax filing India, plays a key role in this movement by providing jute bags and plants for these events. He emphasized the importance of carrying forward this noble initiative for future generations and transforming all celebrations into eco-friendly events.
Telangana activist and folk singer Comrade Vimalakka, Dr. A Joshna Rao (Director of the WEO Schools Program), Sogarabegum (founder president of VNGO), and others offered their congratulations to the newlyweds and shared the importance of environmental awareness.
At the wedding of the niece of V5 News Channel Chairman Venkat Kadakanchi, the WEO presented the couple with a plant and an eco-friendly jute bag, conveying their best wishes. The newlyweds expressed their gratitude for this meaningful gesture.
